Heritage is an unparalleled asset. It is the matrix of our actions and an asset of value that rests firmly on the history, traditions, and culture of the land.
Ricciarini was born at the crossroads between the fabric manufacturing of northern Italy and the wool mills of the Casentino Valley, and, in the tradition of “Made in Italy”, we define our own way of working.
Ricciarini relies on the manufacturing of fabric, the sartorial background from which we took our first steps, and a strong passion for the fashion industry that has led the company to develop valuable relationships with the style departments of leading fashion houses.
Thanks to our deep passion for time-honoured techniques of fabric production and the Tuscan fabric tradition, we’ve developed along a path of evolution and innovation that is unique and distinctive.

An elected space in the company is dedicated to our historical archive. It is a place available for designers and stylists to consult, where the fabrics and intermediary working materials of our collections are organized and catalogued.
Our archive constitutes the historical memory of our company. It is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a precious instrument for work in the hands of our research and development department.
Thanks to the Ricciarini heritage, today we can trace an evolution that begins from a unique point of departure, able to sustain an irreplaceable growth process.
In the Heritage, one can find a true jumping off point through which to anticipate and surpass trends, and contribute to the creation of fashion of and for the people.
Casentino is a green and uncontaminated valley: a territory naturally inclined for sheep raising for the production of wool.
Here, the wool making tradition dates back to the Middle Ages, and is where industrial production of the famous “Casentino cloth” began in 1848.
The “Panno Casentino”, or Casentino cloth, with its characteristic nappy quality, is one of the main reasons for the industrial development throughout the whole valley. Famous people who have donned this cloth include Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini, and, many years later, the unforgettable Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.
The production of wool came upon a period of difficulty only in the beginning of the third millennium, when the circulation of industrial products reduced the demand for artisanal Casentine wools.
Ricciarini understands the cultural value and importance of the Casentino fabric tradition, from which we absorb and safeguard a savoir faire that is the result of over two centuries of history.
The charm of the manufacturing of the wool-making tradition quickly transformed into an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the modern productions of the Ricciarini group.
Manufacturing expertise, craftsmanship, innovation, and contemporaneity come together: from this, textures with singular charm are born.
